Atelier Lecture Cali

 Le projet Atelier Lecture Cali, c’est la rencontre entre des étudiants du campus de Sciences Po Nancy et des enfants d’un quartier défavorisé, le Haut-du-Lièvre. Chaque jeudi en fin d’après-midi les membres de Cali viennent par groupe de quatre lire une ou deux histoires aux enfants de l’école La Fontaine. Le projet Cali est parrainé par l’association ATD Quart Monde qui lutte contre l’exclusion des plus démunis. ATD œuvre en particulier pour préserver leur dignité, leur offrir un mode de vie plus décent et la possibilité de se construire un avenir meilleur.

Dans l’esprit de cette fondation, l'Atelier Lecture a pour but d’éveiller chez les jeunes enfants la curiosité de comprendre le monde qui les entoure à travers les livres et la lecture. Les étudiants animent les ateliers par du théâtre, des marionnettes ou des jeux. Chaque enfant peut aussi emprunter un livre pour le lire et le relire à la maison.
Finalement, le projet Cali, c’est quoi ? Simplement un projet solidaire et éducatif, basé sur l’échange et la lecture, un projet enrichissant et amusant tant pour les enfants que les étudiants.

 Das Studentenprojekt Cali besteht aus dem Treffen zwischen Studenten und jungen Kindern eines sozial schwachen Milieus, des Stadtviertels le Haut-du-Lièvre. Jeden Donnerstag, wenn die Schule zu Ende ist, kommen vier Studenten zur Schule La Fontaine, um den Kindern zwei Geschichten vorzulesen. Cali wird von ‚ATD Vierte Welt‘ gefördert. Diese Stiftung kämpft gegen die soziale Ausgrenzung der Ärmsten. Sie ermöglicht ihnen, ein würdigeres Leben zu führen und eine bessere Zukunft aufzubauen. In diesem Sinne versucht Cali durch das Lesen, ein Sprungbrett für den Schulerfolg, die Neugier den Kindern für unsere Welt zu erregen. Die Studenten bewegen regelmäßig die Lektüren mit Musik, Theater oder Zirkus. Die Kinder haben auch die Möglichkeit ein Buch auszuleihen, um es zu Hause mit den Eltern wieder und wieder zu lesen.

Um es kurz zu fassen ist Cali ein solidarisches und pädagogisches Projekt, das auf den Austausch und die Liebe für das Lesen basiert ist. Ein ergreifendes und unterhaltsames Projekt, sowohl für die Kinder als für die Studenten.

 Cali is a student project which consists of the regular meetings between students from Sciences Po and young children from an underprivileged neighbourhood in Nancy, le Haut-du-Lièvre. Each Thursday afternoon four students come to the La Fontaine school, where they read one or two stories to the children. The Cali project gets sponsored by the foundation ATD Fourth World, which fights against the social exclusion of the underprivileged. ATD aims to preserve their dignity, offering them better living conditions and the possibility of building a brighter future.

In the spirit of ATD, Cali tries to stimulate the children’s curiosity to understand the world they live in through books and reading. The students often liven the meeting up with music, theatre or circus. The children have the opportunity to borrow a book, in order to read it again and again at home with their parents.
Finally, what is Cali? It’s a project about education and solidarity, about communication and interest in reading, an amazing and enriching project for the children as well as for the students.
